How to transfer data from Android to Android phones¹:

Step 1: Connect both phones wirelessly.

Turn on your new and existing Android phones to transfer data from one phone to another.

Your new Android phone will give you instructions right on the screen to connect your old device and transfer data from your phone.²

Step 2: Activate your SIM & sign in.

Next, follow the on-screen instructions to activate your SIM, add your Google Account, and set up biometrics.

Step 3: Select your data.

After that, you’ll choose what data you want to copy from your existing Android phone.

Step 4: Transfer your data.

That’s it! Your data will transfer over while you get to know your new phone.

Android Switch

On Pixel, you can transfer even after setup.

If you are a Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold user and figuring out how to transfer data from Android to Android, you can now access Android Switch after you have already set up your device.

Find it in settings, or on the Google Play Store.

If you previously backed up data with Google One, you can restore content, data, and settings from an old device, even when you do not have it anymore. While setting up, skip “set up using another device,” and choose to restore data from an old device.

Make sure you connect to a Wi-Fi network and sign into your Google account during device setup to view and select your available backups.
